Esta sección está creada para que quien lo desee pueda consultar de forma rápida y directa las cuestiones que más se suelen plantear en el momento de comprar un cachorro. Si no encuentra su pregunta aquí expuesta le ruego no deje de preguntarme directamente todo cuanto desee saber. Usted tiene derecho a la información y me deber es aclarar cualquier duda que le surja.

Ante todo no me considero un criador comercial como tal. Me considero un apasionado y enamorado de la raza. Gracias a Dios y a gente que me ayuda día a día a cuidar de mi manada -mi amiga Priscila Young por ejemplo-, he podido llegar a tener la maravillosa manada de Boyeros que hoy en día tengo y que va en constante aumento.

Mi objetivo principal NO es vender cachorros. Mi objetivo es intentar criar familiarmente un tipo de Boyeros de Berna que a mí personalmente me apasionan. Esto es, boyeros fuertes, longevos, robustos, muy compactos, de buen hueso, buenas ondulaciones, cabeza grande, stop bien marcado, pelo largo, libres de displasia, carácter juguetón y dulce sin llegar a ser "pesados". Seguros, buen movimiento... En fin, ese es mi compromiso para con la raza.

Humildemente quisiera intentar mejorar la raza en la medida de mis posibilidades camada a camada, cachorro a cachorro... Sé que es muy complicado ya que muchos definimos así al perro perfecto -que no existe-, pero creo que mientras más me esfuerce y nos esforcemos todos responsablemente a mantener fidedignamente el estándar de la raza y menos nos alejemos de él, mayor encanto tendrán nuestros boyeritos con el paso del tiempo. Espero y confío en la responsabilidad de todos aquellas personas que se aventuran y hacen cruces sin ningún tipo de criterio y con el único objetivo de sacar un dinerito. Espero que esas personas siempre intenten mejorar la raza. Ya que sería desastroso que desvirtuaran la raza. Últimamente empiezan a haber muchos perros miedosos que para nada definen la raza... Nada más, simplemente quisiera animar a todos aquellos que están indecisos a disfrutar de estos excepcionales perros, pequeños osos amorosos realmente.

Above all I do not consider myself a commercial breeder.  I consider myself a person who is passionate about, and in love with the breed.  With thanks to God and to people who help me daily to take care of my pack, my friend Priscilla Young for example, I am in possession today of a wonderful pack of Bernese dogs, a pack which is constantly increasing.  

My principal aim is NOT to sell puppies.  My goal is to try to breed a family type of Bernese that I personally love.  This means Bernese dogs which are strong, with good longevity, robust, very compact, good boned, good long wavy hair, with a big head, free from dysplasia, playful and sweet without being a nuisance, sure of themselves,  with good walking posture etc.  This is my commitment to the breed. 

I would humbly try to improve the breed as far as I am able, to litter by litter, pup by pup.  I know this is very difficult because many of us define these characteristics as the perfect dog – which does not exist -  but the more effort I, and we responsibly put in to ensure the standard of the breed, without detracting from the breed itself, the more charm our Boyeritos will have with the passing of time.  I hope and trust the responsibility of all those people who are adventurous and cross breed without any criteria and whose sole purpose is that of making money.  I hope that these people will always try to improve the breed because it would be disastrous if the breed were to be adulterated.  Lately there is starting to be many scared or frightened dogs which does not define the true nature of this breed.  I have nothing else to say except to encourage all those who are hesitant about enjoying these exceptional dogs - in reality they are small lovable bears.

• ¿Con qué edad se entregan los cachorros?

Todos los cachorros se entregan con 8 semanas, cuando ya estén vacunados y destetados.

• What age are puppies given to children?

All puppies are ready to go when they are 8 weeks old by which time they will be vaccinated and weaned.

• ¿Qué tengo que hacer para comprar un cachorro?

Para comprar un cachorro Boyero de Berna Maciel deberá ponerse en contacto con nosotros, boyerosmaciel@hotmail.com y le indicaremos la forma de hacer reserva-compra. Lo primero que necesitamos saber es a dónde va a ir a vivir nuestro cachorro, dónde va a vivir y para qué fin quiere Usted este Boyero, compañía, exposición, cría etc...  Seguidamente le pasaremos un contrato de compravernta donde se recogen las condiciones de dicha compra. El tercer y último paso a seguir es hacer un ingreso por el valor de la mitad del precio que se estipule para la venta.

• What do I have to do to buy a puppy?

To be able to buy a puppy Bernese Mountain dog "Maciel" you must contact us -boyerosmaciel@hotmail.com- and we will indicate how to make a reservation-purchase. The first thing we need to know is where is going to live our puppy?, do you have more pets? and for what purpose you want this Bernese? for company? exposure?, breeding? etc ... Then we send a sale agreement which stipulated the conditions for such purchase. The third and final step is to continue to make an bank income by the value of half the price stipulated for the sale.

• ¿Qué control sanitario ejerce sobre sus perros?

Todos mis perros están controlados permanentemente por una clínica veterinaria. Todos los Boyeros/as pasan anualmente 2 análisis de Sangre completos (IFIS), 2 test completos de Leishmania, 2 test de Orina, 2 test de Heces -cacas-, todas las hembras se someten a un mínimo de 2 ecografías completos anualmente -si no quedan preñadas- en caso de quedar preñadas unas 5 ó 6 veces al año -según precisen-. Además de esto todas las hembras en cada celo son sometidas a un frotis vaginal. Además de estos rigruosos controles, todos nuestros perros están vacunados contra la rabia -no obligatoria en nuestra comunidad autónoma-, Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Moquillo, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza y  Leptospira. Además nuestro todos perros están vacunados adicionalmente y anualmente contra herpes virus -machos y hembras-, tos de la perrera y Coronavirus. Dosis específicas adicionales a la vacuna polivalente anteriormente detallada. CANIGEN 8. Este control tan exhaustivo y caro, nos permite tener super controlados a nuestros Boyeros, lo que no quita que puedan estén a salvo de cualquier otro virus.  Nuestros machos están disponibles para montas, para ello se pide que se vacune a la hembra interesada contra herpes virus, antes del celo de la hembra y justo antes de la monta con el macho.

• What is your sanitary control programme?

All my dogs are continuously monitored by a veterinary clinic. All dogs go 2 year analysis of whole blood (IFIS), 2 full Leishmania test, 2 test of urine, 2 stool test, all females are subject to a minimum of 2 ultrasound yearly, if not become pregnant - where to get pregnant about 5 or 6 times a year as needed. Besides that all females in each heat were subjected to a vaginal smear. Rigruosos addition to these controls, all our dogs are vaccinated against rabies not compulsory in our region, Parvovirus, Hepatitis, canine distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza and leptospirosis. Moreover, all our dogs are vaccinated annually against further herpes virus-males and females, the kennel cough and Coronavirus. Specific additional dose to the polyvalent vaccine previously detailed. CANIGE 8. This very comprehensive and expensive to control, allows us to control our super dogs. Our males are available for mounting calls for it to be vaccinated against the female interest herpes virus, before the heat of the female and just before mating with the male.

• ¿Mi cachorro estará garantizado contra la displasia de codos y caderas?

NO. Nosotros nos prestamos a mostrar a quien vaya a comprar un cachorro Bernés los test de codos y caderas de los padres de la camada en cuestión. Boyeros de Berna Maciel cría con perros sanos y libres de displasia. Esa es la única garantía al respecto que se ofrece. Para los no iniciados en el tema, de dos padres totalmente libres de displasia de codos y caderas es decir HD A 0/0, pueden nacer cachorros con displasia de codo y / o cadera. Es algo que no depende exclusivamente -aún haciendo bien las cosas- del criador. Por lo que no podemos garantizar esta eventualidad.

• Will My puppy be guaranteed against hip  and elbow dysplasia?

NO. We can show who is going to buy a puppy Bernese tests elbows and hips of the parents of the litter in question. Berne Boyeros Maciel breeding dogs healthy and free of dysplasia. This is the only guarantee is offered in this regard. For the uninitiated in the subject, both parents totally free of hip and elbow dysplasia is HD A 0 / 0, puppies can be born with elbow dysplasia and / or hip. • ¿Sus perros tienen hechas las pruebas de displasia?

Todos nuestros perros tienen realizada la prueba de displasia de codos y caderas, si bien algunas radiografías están presentadas al AMVAC y estamos a la espera de conocer su veredicto. Quiero aclarar que la Real Sociedad Canina española no exige a los criadores de Boyeros de Berna tener las pruebas de displasia realizadas y ningún organismo oficia  que exija tal prueba. Este test no está reconocido por la Real Sociedad Canina Española. Ni siquiera se pueden añadir en los pedigrees de nuestros perros. La FCI sí que lo exige y hace constar dicho resultado en sus pedigrees.

• Have  your dogs had their hips and elbows dysplasia test done?

All our dogs have done the test of hip dysplasia and elbow, while some of these rays are presented in AMVAC and we await their verdict. I want to clarify that the Spanish Royal Canine Society does not require to Bernese mountain dogs breeders the displasia test. Of these tests there is no any official organism that requires such proof. This test is not recognized by the Spanish Royal Canine Society. You can even add their results voluntarily in the Pedigrees of our dogs. The FCI requires such a test and record your result in Pedigrees.

• ¿Cuál es el precio de cada cachorro y qué se incluye en este precio?

El precio de cada cachorro depende de quiénes sean los padres. Los machos cuestan igual que las hembras y no distinguimos entre cachorros de una misma camada. Todos los cachorros de una misma camada cuestan exactamente igual. Cuando le entregamos un cachorro se entrega desparasitado internamente, vacunado con todas las vacunas que el cachorro precise para su edad en el momento de la entrega. Destetados. Sin espolones. Inscritos en el LOE y listos para tramitar su pedigree. Con el microchip y dados de alta en el servicio de identificación de animales. Y socializados. El precio no incluye ningún tipo de garantía sanitaria ni transporte. Lo que se garantiza es que se cumple con todas las medidas sanitarias previstas para un óptimo cuidado de unos cachorros de este nivel. Anteriormente detallado.

• How much do you charge per puppy and what is included in this price?

The price for each puppy depends on who are the parents. The price of the males is the same as the price of the females. All pups from the same litter cost exactly the same. • ¿Sus Boyeros Machos están disponibles para monta?

Sí. Todos nuestros machos están disponibles para montas. Para confirmar una monta es fundamental e indispensable que su perra esté inscrita en el LOE, esté vacunada completamente y además de herpes virus. La perra debe tener igualmente la prueba de displasia de caderas y codos realizada.

• Are your  Bernese Males available for mating?

Yes, all our males are available for mounting. To confirm a mount that is fundamental and indispensable dog is registered in the LOE or FCI, is fully vaccinated and herpes virus also. The dog must also have test of hip dysplasia and elbow done.
